Well, you're never too old to learn!  KidzArt turned me into a believer when I went to franchisee training in December of 2003.  When I finished my first drawing I thought, “Wow!  If this makes me feel so good, how will it make a child feel?”  As an “empty nester,” KidzArt has given me a great opportunity to work with kids again.  It has also provided a creative outlet for skills developed as a wife, mother, grandmother, administrative assistant, school volunteer and meeting planner.    In 2004, my franchise won “Meeting the Challenge.”  While I am not sure exactly what that means, I can say that I approach just about every new challenge with a positive “can do” attitude.  I love being involved in this program.  KidzArt is a huge blessing in my life.  Seeing young children develop their own personalities gives me so much joy.  It is always exciting to see what they will say or do next.

In the summer of 2004, I saw a KidzArt pamphlet and was immediately drawn to the vibrant artwork of the students. I had been looking for a drawing program to supplement the art my third grader was doing at school and called Janet to sign her up. A few days later, I heard from an acquaintance that KidzArt was looking for instructors. I decided to call Janet again to inquire about becoming a KidzArt instructor and utilize my artistic background from taking art classes and growing up around my father's art gallery and custom framing shop. I have been a certified instructor ever since, working with Janet and her dedicated team and truly enjoy teaching the KidzArt method and working with children in an artistic capacity. I find it to be a solid technique that engages the children's creative imagination while building their observation and drawing skills.
  • Michelle SchmidtMichelle Schmidt

Hi, my name is Michelle Schmidt. I have been married for over 23 years. I originally grew up in upstate New York but have lived in Raleigh since 1983. I have two wonderful teen boys. While my degree is in business, I truly believe that you are never too old to learn how to draw. My kids are amazed at what I can do through teaching the KidzArt classes. I love working with kids and have volunteered many hours at my children’s preschool, elementary/middle schools and church. Since my boys are getting older and don’t want mom around so much anymore, working for Janet at KidzArt provided the perfect opportunity to spend time with children again.
  • Kerry SznajderKerry Sznajder

Hi, My name is Kerry Sznajder. I have always enjoyed art and design. I received my degree in Interior Design from Meredith College in 1994. Since then I have mostly worked in retail businesses selling furniture, flooring, wallpaper, etc.

When my daughter, Kaitlin, was two years old, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. She is now 10 and in the fifth grade. We discovered KidzArt when Kaitlin started fourth grade at Lynn Road Elementary. We had been looking for programs that would challenge her artistic ability and we found it in KidzArt. I was very impressed with what she came home with each week! I believe that what kids get out of KidzArt can help them in all academic areas and teaches them that they CAN do anything they set their minds to.

I am happy to be a member of the KidzArt team and look forward to working with so many eager and talented students

I am excited to be a part of the KidzArt team. I am a grandmother with two wonderful grandsons and have lived in Raleigh for four years. I teach at Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool and am anxious to see where KidzArt places me!

I have been involved with educating children throughout my adult life and am still constantly amazed by their enthusiasm about learning new things. I love to see their delight when they reach their goal or create something which makes them feel proud. Art is one area where children can feel a sense of control over their world because they have the freedom to create something that expresses how they see things. I look forward to helping children develop a positive sense of self through art expression.
  • Mary YannayonMoira Bubeck

Hello, my name is Moira (sounds like “Laura”) Bubeck. I am thrilled to be a KidzArt instructor and a KidzArt parent!

I have three children who are in the 7th grade, 4th grade and 1st grade at Durant Road Middle and Elementary Schools. They all love to create artwork and together we love to watch their imaginations soar!

I love working with children in any capacity that inspires them to grow creatively and nurture a strong, positive sense of self. KidzArt has done this for my children and I have seen it work for so many others!
